Jaclyn S. D’Arminio
Jaclyn S. D’Arminio is an associate with the firm and senior associate in the education and municipal practice group with an emphasis on education law, special education law, labor and employment law. As part of the practice group, Ms. D’Arminio serves both as general counsel and special educational counsel to local public-school boards, and governing bodies of non-public schools across the State of New Jersey. She has a wealth of experience advising clients on the day-to-day complexities of running a school district. This includes labor and employment matters, student discipline, the IEP process and due process petitions, contracts and procurement, and, more recently, the change in landscape as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. D’Arminio has a particular specialty in special education law. She regularly advises and represents her clients through all aspects of special education matters including identification meetings, evaluation determinations, Individualized Education Plan (“IEP”) meetings, mediation, Complaint investigations, due process and administrative hearings held at the OAL and settlement agreements. Ms. D’Arminio also provides valuable training services to her clients’ child study teams believing that the best defense to a due process petition starts with a well drafted, student-focused IEP.
Ms. D’Arminio is also an experienced land use attorney. She manages municipal land use applications for corporate and individual clients from intake through final submission. This includes attendance and representation of clients at hearings before relevant planning and zoning boards. She has also acted as Board Attorney to land use boards across the state, providing her ample insight on the land use process from both sides of the dais.
