JUSTIN A. MARCHETTA
Justin A. Marchetta is a partner of the Firm and leads its Aviation practice group. He is also a member of the Governmental, Corporate and Land Use practice groups.
Mr. Marchetta represents aircraft owners and operators, pilots, crewmembers, and mechanics in a wide variety of legal matters, including certification, accident and incident investigations, enforcement actions, medical certificate eligibility, and insurance. He regularly counsels aircraft owners and potential owners, and conducts complex domestic and international transactions regarding a diverse fleet of aircraft from small single engine airplanes up to super-mid and large size business jets. He also represents clients in all aspects of aircraft ownership and operation under both private and commercial operating regulations. Representing on-demand charter companies, air ambulance and medivac services, fixed-base operators (FBOs), and air tour operators, Mr. Marchetta also advises aviation businesses in all aspects of their operations. He is a founding member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Aviation Law Committee, and he sits on the board of the nonprofit aviation advocacy group, Mid-Atlantic Aviation Coalition (MAAC). He also serves as a panel attorney for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Legal Services Plan.
For over a decade, Mr. Marchetta has represented municipalities and public agencies in all facets of governmental operations, including compliance and regulatory matters, Open Public Records Act and Open Public Meetings Act, bidding and purchasing, construction appeals, police and emergency services, disaster recovery, insurance, housing and code enforcement. A frequent presenter on legal aspects of governmental operations, Mr. Marchetta regularly presents seminars on current legal issues to municipal and county clerks, administrators and emergency services personnel. He currently serves as Township Attorney for the Township of Tewksbury, and as Compliance and Special Counsel for the Township of Nutley, as well as Special Counsel to several boards of education.

Mr. Marchetta, a licensed amateur radio operator (call sign NE2V) and avid radiosport competitor, serves as Volunteer Counsel to the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) representing its members in regulatory, zoning and land use matters.
In the public sector, Mr. Marchetta serves as lead and coordinating defense counsel on matters involving municipal joint insurance funds. Mr. Marchetta received his B.A. degree from Rutgers College, and his J.D. Cum Laude from Seton Hall University School of Law. While in law school, he served as vice president of the Seton Hall Litigation Society and received best brief author and best oral advocate honors in appellate advocacy. Before attending law school, Mr. Marchetta worked in the public sector for eight years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher and EMT. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Marchetta worked for four years, first as a full-time law clerk then as an associate, at the law firm Stern & Kilcullen. He also interned for the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, U.S.M.J. in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
